Values:

Tikanga
THONR acknowledges the value of our customs and beliefs as handed down by our tūpuna.  These taonga will be incorporated into the way we do things as a Health Provider with our Māori client whānau.

Rangatiratanga
THONR believes that article two of Te Tiriti o Waitangi is paramount to its kaupapa.  In practice, rangatiratanga translates to participation in the sector and in decision-making, planning, development and delivery of health services.

Manaakitanga
Manaakitanga is the care and awhi we give to others and ourselves that is nurtured within the kāinga and the workplace.  As kaimahi, we extend this practice out to the community.

Whanaungatanga
THONR also believe whānau and connectedness to whānau to be an integral component to individual wellness.  The practice of whanaungatanga is key to service delivery.

Wairuatanga
As kaimahi, our wairua protects us by the strength and courage that comes from within us and enables us to call on the knowledge bestowed upon us.

Partnership
THONR actively seeks to establish partnerships with clients, whānau, hapū, iwi, other organisations and agencies to ensure that it can achieve its goal of improving the health status of Māori in Marlborough.

Quality
THONR adopts a philosophy that emphasises client focus; a team based approach and ensure the theme “continuous improvement” is embedded within the culture of THONR.

Excellence
THONR strives to achieve the highest standard in its management, governance and clinical practices.  Standards are defined and outcomes are measured against the following dimensions:
- Accessibility
- Relevance to need
- Cultural acceptability
- Equity
- Efficiency
- Effectiveness
- Accountability

Early Intervention
THONR will intervene as early as possible in the continuum of primary health care and public health initiatives for the purpose of preventing chronic diseases, achieving wellness, and receiving timely diagnosis and effective treatment.
